Locating a Missing Pet
If Lassie isn't available to find your Seattle missing pet, it may be time to move to the bigger dogs, the USDA and AWIC, and of course your local vet.
If your pet has gone missing, you may wish to post information online about him or her. The Missing Pet Network is one site that will enable you to post information by state, and there are others that may allow you to post information or that you may wish to call to let them know you have lost your pet and are looking for it. You can find other petfinder services or animal welfare organizations using online search tools.
Additional information relating to pets and animals can be found on the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) web site, Animal Welfare Information Center (AWIC).
Finally, be sure to check with your pet's veterinarian and shelters in your area regularly to see if there is any new information on your pet.
