Recreational Activities - Camping and Hiking
So apparently that Seattle open space by the lake wasn't open land. Who knew? Well, that guy with the shotgun seemed to know, and he wasn't shy about sharing his knowledge with us. Next time let's research first!
Camping is described by the recreation standard as camping in developed sites, resorts or cabins; primitive, overnight and modern camping; backpacking; and camping in yurts, teepees and tents. Campers may use a recreational vehicle, a tent, a primitive structure, or no shelter at all.
Camping is often restricted by law to designated sites in order to prevent campers from damaging the environment. Thus, the rules regarding camping at recreational sites vary widely and depend on the place you are visiting. Campsite fees, visitation fees and seasonal restrictions also vary from site to site. In some cases, campsites can be reserved in advance. For detailed information on a particular site, please contact that site directly. For contact information use the telephone numbers, addresses, e-mail addresses and web sites provided at Recreation.gov.
To view recreational areas listed in Recreation.gov that allow camping, please view their recreational activity search results for camping.
Information on making reservations to camp at a recreational facility is also available.
