Faith-Based and Community Initiatives


Maybe GW didn't do a perfect job in his 8 years in office, but one area that affects Seattle and others that he made some large strides is in the area of faith-based and community initiatives.

The White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives
was created by an Executive Order in January 2001. Faith-based and community organizations (FBCOs) in eleven federal agencies. The goal of these organizations is to strengthen and expand the role of FBCOs in providing social services. Each center's responsibilities include conducting department-wide audits to identify all existing barriers to the participation of faith-based and other community organizations in the delivery of social and community services.
