Sex Offender List

If you live in Halifax, you have a right to know if sex offenders are registered in your neighborhood. You need to be able to keep your children safe and know who may have predatory urges in Halifax.

The National Sex Offender Public Registry is provided as a public service by the Department of Justice (DOJ). You may use this website to learn about the possible presence of sex offenders in your local community.

Megan's Law, enacted in 1996, allows states to disclose public information about convicted sex offenders. Each
state may define the types of sex offenders who are required to register and regularly report to law enforcement. You can gain access to state sex offender registry websites through the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) website.

For additional resources, please visit the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section of the DOJ's Criminal Division. If you require additional information or assistance, you may wish to contact the FBI directly by contacting a field office in your area.
